This image started out as a much lower rez New year splashscreen, but I felt it would be fun to make a larger render of it.
Young sprout and old tree + lighting are the "newyear" ideas I put in the image. The toadstools are a christmass reference, and some details are there to enhance the theme.
There actually is a buddha carved into the root of the tree, though it doesn't look much like this one.
ps sorry about the 2006 in the file name.. accident!
